About
The Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital was founded in 1965 with support from the Rockefeller Foundation and opened on 3 May 1969 in the Phaya Thai area. It describes three main buildings serving about 5,000 outpatients a day.
The Main Building has more than 1,000 beds for tertiary care. The Queen Sirikit Medical Center houses bone marrow transplantation, an advanced diagnostic imaging centre, operating rooms and intensive care, and the Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Center adds up to 350 beds, 16 operating rooms and 34 intensive care units, 12 of them neonatal.
Registration at the Accident and Emergency Center runs 24 hours. Office-hours clinics open early on weekdays, and after-hours clinics run on weekday evenings and at weekends for selected specialties. The faculty also runs the Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute in Bang Phli, opened in 2017.

Women's Health and OB-GYN Services
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is on the 4th floor of Building 1 and publishes separate phone lines for its Obstetrics Clinic, Gynaecology Clinic, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and Reproductive Health and Family Planning units, which makes it easier to reach the right team directly.
Neonatal intensive care is available in the Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Center, which lists 12 neonatal intensive care units among its 34. The department's English page is a short version of its Thai site, so clinic hours, antenatal programmes and delivery details are not given in English.
It may suit women with a high-risk pregnancy or a gynaecological cancer who want subspecialist care in a teaching hospital.
