Put how you have been feeling into words

Short questionnaires to help you put how you have been feeling into words before you talk to a professional. Each one is a screening, not a diagnosis. Your answers are scored in your browser and never sent to us.

5 self-checks

What a screening questionnaire is

Each self-check asks how often you have noticed certain feelings, habits or problems over a set period, usually the last two weeks, and adds up your answers. A higher score suggests it may be worth talking to a doctor, psychologist or counsellor. A score cannot tell you what is causing how you feel, and only a qualified professional can make a diagnosis.

Validated and informal checks

Checks marked with the name of a questionnaire, such as the PHQ-9, use a published instrument that has been tested in research, with the original questions and scoring. Checks marked informal are written by our editors to help you reflect; they have not been tested, so treat their result as a prompt for a conversation rather than a measure.

Your answers stay private

Scoring happens in your browser. We do not receive or see your answers. Your progress is kept in this browser so you can come back to a check, until you retake it or clear this site's data. If you want to share a result with a professional, note it down or take a screenshot. Theprivacy policy has the details.

If you are thinking about harming yourself, do not wait to take a test: in Thailand call the Department of Mental Health hotline on 1323, or 1669 in an emergency.
